 brooders
I use a 90 qt plastic tote for my button quail brooders.  I really like the way they are light weight and they can be washed out very easy.  I line the bottom with cabinent liner. These can also be soaked and cleaned.  I have spare ones that I have on hand so I can change them out as needed.

I cut a square hole on the top and attach 1/4 " wire.  It allows fresh air and I can keep a eye on them.  You can see here  I have 6 on a shelf.  You can also see the Edstrem Variflow waters I use.
Here is a view of the cut out on the top of the tote. You can also see I use a standard 100 watt light bulb for heat.  I just found some old lamps.  You can also see the liner.
Here is a close up of the cut out for the Variflow waters. The measurment is 1/2 by 1 inch.  When the waterers are installed with the clips it covers the hole up but baby buttons can fit through this hole.  I have 4 brooders with the hole cut out for the waters and 2 that don't have the hole cut out.  I start the babies out in brooders without the holes.  Then when the are 2 weeks I switch them to the brooders with the holes cut out.
Close up of the water with the clip to attach it to the brooder.  The Edstrem Variflow system is very easy to install, clean, manage, and  inexpensive.  I start buttons out on a bottle water for the first 2 weeks, then add the Variflow waters at the start of the 3 week.  They have both waters for 1 week and then I remove the bottle water after that.  They learn very fast.
